Dedicated to improving lives and buinesses
Dr. Zoya A McCants

I am a doctorate level licensed mental health counselor with a concentration in leadership, education, professional practice, and social policy. I am an advocate for the underserved population and women’s rights. I provide individual therapy out of Northern NJ and Westchester County in New York. Along with providing individual therapy, I provide trainings and consultation services for program and policy development, integration of behavioral health models and mental health outpatient care. I am trained and certified to provide telemental health services via HIPPA compliant videoconferencing sessions.

I believe that everyone should have a mantra and mine is “with every encounter there is purpose.” We often hear the phrase “we meet people for a reason” whether they are colleagues, friends, or partners, they serve a purpose.  Some teach us how to love, how to be a friend, encourage us, stimulate us, or remind us that we are not alone. They bring out the best or worse in us and it’s our job to use this to strengthen us.

I began my counseling career in 2006 where I found purpose and learned that if we could help each other, we could possibly make small changes in the world. As Ghandi said “be the change that you want to see in the world.” Throughout my counseling career I found passion in helping others through difficult times and also found a passion in developing programs that last and can support the community. I have been successful in building efficacious programs within non-profit organizations and hospitals. All of my departments have successfully passed their state regulatory agency audits.
